Latest Nielsen figures from Australia show that New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc has consolidated its place as the most popular wine in that country. According to survey data, 74,000 more Australian households purchased New Zealand wine in 2010 than the previous year, an increase of 38%.

The majority of this wine is Sauvignon Blanc, with 21% of all bottled wine sold in Australia now being New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.

The data is from ACNielsen’s Homescan Consumer Panel’s ongoing survey of Australian purchasing trends.
