Latest information from Kiwifruit Vine Health shows that the number of orchards recording positive evidence of the kiwifruit vine disease Psa has risen to 241. Slightly more than half of these have the more serious of the two strains found to be active in this country, PsaV.

The bacteria were discovered in the Te Puke district in November 2010, with most of the outbreaks so far confined to the Bay of Plenty region.
