In the fast food world the growth of drinking with ‘dinner’ has been at geological pace since the first beer was served with McDonald’s at a Munich franchise in 1971. But change is speeding up, and now not only French and other European outlets are offering wine and beer with fast food, but it is happening in the United States as well.

Burger King has three new Whopper Bars serving beer and wine in the US, and now the Sonic chain are offering draught beer and 10 different wines to their quick customers.

Starbucks also sells beer and wine, but only in its Seattle outlets. The chain originated in Seattle.
