The kiwifruit vine pathogen, Psa-V, continues to spread through the Bay of Plenty’s grower community, with 11 new orchards confirmed as infected since last Monday (Jan 16).

This brings the total number of infected properties in the Te Puke region of the Bay to 777, and the total in all regions to 939. With first estimates of the coming 2012 harvest due early in February, exporters are waiting anxiously to see whether they can meet the international market demand in the next twelve months.
